Teaching-Learning
The faculty view the teaching-learning process as a dynamic, logical interchange between the learner and the educational environment. Learning involves the acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and critical thinking. Learning is evidenced by the meaningful use of these acquired factors in the care of patients. The faculty believes that individuals learn in a variety of ways and provide a diversity of resources to meet the needs of the student. The faculty believes in instructor-guided and student self-directed learning; thus, the primary roles of the instructor are those of teacher, facilitator, evaluator, advisor, and resource. The faculty is responsible for assisting individual students to become knowledgeable, demonstrate competencies, and meet the graduate learning outcomes needed for entry into the practice of practical nursing..
Learning is enhanced through teaching with respect to the student’s knowledgebase, educational experiences that are organized in a logical sequence to promotes continuity , and by consideration of the student’s unique needs and strengths.
